Salesforce Commerce Architect/Developer

At Red Van, we’ve been enabling commerce-minded businesses with Salesforce technologies for more than 10 years. Working with some of the best brands in the world, we know that nothing matters more than time-to-value, conversion, and lifetime value for B2C and B2B businesses. From omni-channel retail to higher education, brands known around the world to the latest vertically integrated unicorn, Red Van’s team is the best, brightest, and most experienced system integrators in the Salesforce ecosystem.

In your role as a Commerce Architect at Red Van, your main responsibility is delivering highly converting and engaging commerce solutions (B2C, D2C, B2B) to our customers that create high-value appreciation for the services and solutions delivered as a part of our engagements.  Your success is dependent on your broad technical acumen, with specific expertise in Salesforce Commerce technologies (specifically Demandware, but not limited to Demandware).  Previous technical leadership with Enterprise businesses (either as a direct employee, contractor or service provider) is needed to succeed as an Architect at Red Van.

In addition, Red Van Architects also take on direct development tasks (tickets), perform code reviews, share learnings and best practices while also educating and elevating the knowledge within our customers. Critical thinking, problem solving, escalation management and collaboration are occuring daily at the direction of our Architects as well.

Responsibilities - You will:

  • Produce excellent code while collaborating with internal development resources at the client.
  • Partner with other Red Vanners for QA, Project Management, and troubleshooting development issues.
  • Participate in stand-up meetings, conference calls, track your time, and work through tickets assigned to you within a Jira instance. Lots of tickets.
  • Work remotely with the distributed team at Red Van as well as client resources, being available during core business hours.
  • Act with urgency and professionalism when interfacing with client resources. Don’t worry, our Project Managers step in to handle the primary communication and resolve conflicts with clients.
  • Learn from some of the best on how to develop within the enterprise level e-commerce platform, Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud.

Ideally you:

  • Have multiple (6+) years of experience developing software and technical implementations of customer projects in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, so many that you still call it Demandware and SFRA.
  • Have significant experience architecting and shipping well-performing, cross-browser, responsive, customer-facing, Salesforce Commerce Cloud sites (with or without frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Ember.js).
  • Experienced with object-oriented languages and concepts, including development work using .NET or other similar languages.
  • Solid experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Compass/Bourbon, SASS, Zurb Foundation, Bootstrap, Less, JQuery.
  • Have significant experience working as part of a small, focused team as the primary technical expert and advocate.
  • Appreciate web standards and accessibility (e.g. WCAG Standards, screen reader support, semantic HTML).
  • Have significant experience working with designers to create and maintain style guides & CSS standards across different applications.
  • Are excited to play a critical and evolving role in helping drive technical initiatives to enhance end-user and developer experiences.
  • Possess analytical, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills as well as creativity and attention to detail; familiarity with database management, development environment, program testing, and other related software.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and write code building website frameworks alongside other developers, through challenging long-term projects as the software architect.

Compensation:

  • $150 - 175K
